MISSION
Making Your Mind is about promoting human flourishing by reconceiving learning as a “Dynamic Wisdom Adventure.”
We enable teachers to connect students with dynamic learning tools; students to reconceive of learning and their lives as great adventures; and everyone— teachers and students alike—to refocus the precious, human part of education on the pursuit of wisdom. In short, we want to enable teachers to inspire mindmakers, and students to take responsibility for making their own minds.
THE PROBLEM
We live in an exciting era of innovation and discovery: change is the only constant. It is estimated that as much as 70% of the jobs we have today will be obsolete within 10 years and will be replaced by ones which do not yet exist.
People can easily be overwhelmed by the speed and complexity of it all, even if they have access to the best educational system and most inspired teachers to guide them. The problem goes beyond simply having access to quality education, it involves student engagement and the social construct of the environment. And the situation is much more challenging for people in the developing world, where in many places there is not enough infrastructure to meet the needs of all the eager learners.
The tools and methods of the past cannot meet the need. In addition to reaching more people in better ways, we need new tools to sift good from bad, useful from frivolous, and true from false. Teachers, students, parents, and employers need to realize that we are entering a new era of human development and education needs to adapt to the ever-increasing amount of information—true, debatable, and deliberately false—that is being generated by today’s hyper-connected society. Preparing learners of all ages to not only keep up but to contribute and to thrive in this emerging world is our critical mission.

The answer is inspired teachers creating inspired students who view education as the path to their sustainable success in a world of change. The concept of lifelong learning must meld with engagement and become self-directed and personally driven. Students of all ages must learn to make their minds. In so-doing, learning becomes a “Dynamic Wisdom Adventure!”
